Thanks. In truth, the benefits of running most Amsoil products can't be realized without voiding the warranty. It is a waste to run the signature series if the severe schedule is being followed.

so would 0w30 be good or better for the cold new England weather especially if im parked outside. I just want to do best to minimize cold start wear to the nearest minimum I can. I can hear it in the morning yes that awful sound. I used a bottle of synthetic stp oil additive and it works but when super cold nothing works. Would it be wise to go with oem or go with ow30

No offense but you brought back a thread that’s 12.5 years old… the numbers represent the viscosity of the oil at different temperature. The brand puts whatever additives in their oil and what works for you is your call. I live in a mild climate and I like my oil a little thicker than 0 so I go with 5w30. Since I’ll be doing my first oil change next month (my g is a recent purchase) I’ll start with 5w30.i purchased ester oil but i think I’m going to return it since it was expensive 🤕 I’ve heard that people use 0w30, 5w30, 0w40 and 5w40 on our engines. I’ll see how I like 5w30 then with my next oil change I’ll try 5w40 and see which one I like better or if I’ll notice much of a difference. For you I’d start with what the motor calls for 5w30 and if it’s still making the noise the step up to the 10w30
