Who doesn't add oil between oil change intervals (OCI)?

If you don't add oil, what is your OCI?

If you do add oil, how much do you add on average?

 

Very seldom. When I do it's only been about 4 or 5 oz. a couple of times. 7500 mile OCI.

 

^thanks for the reply. I have ~5000 miles on my 2010 coupe and 1000 miles into my current oil change. I estimate from low to hi on the dipstick is approximately 1 qt. I had to add 3/4 qt after 1000 mi. Not happy.

 

In my 2009 I run 5 months and approx. 3500 miles on a change, Penzoil synthetic. I check it periodcially along with our other cars, but it uses almost nothing. Maybe it goes down 1/16" on the dipstick over my OCI, but I'm not even sure it does that.

I'd keep an eye on it. Oil consumption is a known problem with this motor and iirc there's a TSB. Do a search and numerous cases have popped up. The dealer has a set amount of consumption before they replace engine, after their own "oil consumption test", I think they seal drain plug or something
I've only had my car for 2 oil changes and have added 1/2 quart between 1st and 2nd oil changes (5k interval w/ dealer ester), i'm going to recheck around 2500 miles if I need to add any.

 

My first 2 oil changes I had to add between 1/4 to 1/2 qt. (less than 2000 miles)

Now I don't have to add any oil with a 3400 mile OCI. Probably will go further as the car breaks in. I still check the oil periodically between oil changes.
