Cool Shiftlock (out of Park) is driving me crazy

Does anyone else have the occasional problem of the 7AT shift lever refusing to come out of the Park position on the first try? This issue has occured on my car since it was new, but it seems to be getting worse, probably occuring 30-40% of the time. It always works fine on the second try. And yes, I have my foot planted firmly on the brake!

Mine used to do that occasionally when you don't let your foot off the brake after you started the car. Simple release and reapply solved everytime. Not sure if it's a mechanical problem or program.

No issue. I rarely park on slope and do not use ebrake except to view videos, stupid interlock.

Try squeezing the release slower.

I have the same problem...

has nothing to do with incline/decline.. it's always the first shift of the day...

just another slightly annoying thing this car does.

oh well, could be worse

When you say you use the ebrake, how do you engage it?

Correct way would be to come to stop wherever you want to park, engage parking brake THEN put the car in park and shut it down. That makes the ebrake take the tension instead of the parking pawl (which is what is "tight" and causes the hard to shift out of park thing)

I have no problems on my flat garage floor even without the ebrake engaged, but a fairly small incline causes the hard shift out of park. Its not just my car either, my wifes car does it too. Definitely not unique to the G, just probably worse than other cars.

Try gently nudging your steering wheel left/right? I seem to recollect having similar issues if the steering was turned after going into park..
