so even i take it to the dealer they cant fix it?
did any1 take to the dealer?

 

It's not a problem, lol. There's a LOT of chatter from our cars. Don't believe me, and just depress the clutch really fast when decelerating and listen to the tin can that is our throw out bearing.

 

There's nothing to fix, that's just the nature of the transmission.

 

I noticed this on my camaro when I first got it @ about 15K miles. At 80K miles, the noise was still there (slightly louder though). Never had any clutch issues through out ownership. Nature of the beast it seems...

 

I would like to now join and add to this thread. I have been a stick driver for 35 years, only way to go, MHO. My G37S 6MT is six months old now, with 4100 miles on the clock (don't drive it that much-office is in the house). I was shocked, myself, to hear this "clutch clatter", which became obvious to me these last few days. As one member said-push the clutch in, the sound disappears. Release the clutch (with car in neutral), and it does sound something like a small, rotating barrel with marbles inside. My first reaction, which one other member just cited, is that it sounded to me like a throw-out bearing was on its way out-and I know I am careful stick driver......but now I read this, and it seems to a quirk for this car, great. I guess you don't get your $42K's worth anymore. Other hand, my last car was an Audi A6-that proved to be the worst mistake of my life. So if it is a noisy clutch and not a sign of something about to strand me on a roadway somewhere-I guess I will live with it. I am going to my dealer on Tuesday for a non-related matter, and I will ask them about this when there.

 

Alex, 3 weeks after having a tune up on the camaro some years back, I'm driving along on the highway. It was under construction, 2 local lanes, 1 express lane with barricades on both sides. I'm putting along at about 80 mph when all of a sudden the car stalls. Quick thinking, I put it into neutral and had enough momentum to travel about 1/8 or so of a mile to a spot I could actually pull over. This whole time I'm hoping I don't run out of power brakes as I try stopping the car

Turned out the reman optispark had issues (the distributor like device that gm used on the lt1 vintage 1992 to 1997). A non reman replacement took care of the issue.
