VLSD markings

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to purchase a VLSD for my 6MT 350Z. I figured I might as well get the 3.7 fd gear ratio.

My question is, what are the markings on the diff that signify that it is a VLSD?? I have seen KF and K5.

Also, did all the manual transmission G37's come with the VLSD? or was it only the sport package ones?
I understand that the auto's have a 3 bolt flange and the manuals have a 4 blot flange.

Thanks for all the help!

what's your stock fd? aren't 3.9's expensive? you might as well go 4.08's... as far as the whole vsld deal goes...all sports come with vlsds, as far as my knowledge goes. all manuals on the contrary are in fact sports. are you swapping pumpkins or are you opening up the diffs? not sure of the markings. as far the flanges go...4 bolts is correct (off the driveshaft). you have 5 per axle as well. good luck!

by the way, if you're planning to do a swap...you might want to be careful - once our vlsds wear out, they essentially become open diffs...no locking = one tire burn outs. keep your eyes open!

Ok,

here are the pictures of the diff that I want to get. It has K5 written all over it, and it has a 4 bolt flange. So it must be from the g37S 6MT correct. The seller says that it came from a G37 manual. So, it has to have the 3.69 Fd and the VLSD?? Someone please confirm! Sorry for being paranoid, I was duped by a shop who installed an open diff on my car and told me it was a locking type.

Thanks for the help guys

Thanks again!
