Great info, but to clarify, we cut these in our machine shop, they were CAD designed in-house, and are lighter than others out there.

Yes there is a standard sized pulley mirroring the factory cast steel pulley, and we also offer an underdrive pulley to also slightly slow the accessories to reclaim HP as well, and requires a shorter belt.

 

So if I use the stock stereo us is safe to underdrice accessories?

 

I haven't heard of a customer even with a built stereo system having any issues.. it's not like the older cars where you get dimming lights (which would happen with built stereos).. but if you're looking to supercharge or have a killer sound system, our advice would be to definitely go with the standard sized pulley..

If you're not, you can take advantage of the additional gains with an underdrive pulley.. A/C also works just fine, we're not talking about a huge percentage of underdriving..

 

^^ thanks for the input josh. Ive really been considering getting some new pulleys. Now i have to decide if its worth the trouble to instal.

 

It's a good upgrade, and the install doesn't take that long, with the proper tools and setup to lock that pulley in place, and if you have the super long breaker bar / wrench combo. There is a lot of force being applied to secure that nut. Definitely take a look at the instructions so you know what's involved. I believe I saw a DIY thread around here or on the 370Z site..

 

I'm running the Stillen pulley now (stock diameter) and IMO, the engine felt as though it revs quicker. No issues to report and am happy with the product. I ran their underdrive on my last car (Maxima) and I felt as though the A/C didn't pump as hard...makes sense b/c it's being under driven. Also, since you have to run a shorter belt with the underdrive, its more of a headache when replacing belts as alot of times the dealer may not have it readily on hand. Eitherway, happy with the product.

In regards to DIY- good luck. Both times I've had the dealer do it and they said it was a PITA.
