7AT Noise on Incline
7AT Noise on Incline
I've had the recent 7AT reprogram installed on my car and ever since I've been having this chattering noise whenever I try to slowly accelerate up an incline. I hear it everyday on my driveway. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what the sound is? The car has close to 8000 miles on it.

Hi, I had the reprogram but dont have that problem; does it do it after U move the txm lever to the 5spd mode? Do U use Nissan Ester oil? cud it be valve chatter? I assume U use at least 91oct fuel; cud be something loose.

Transmission in D mode. I use shell premium fuel and conventional valvoline oil. I'll have to try it in DS and see what happens. If it were valve chatter, wouldn't I here it all the time? This sound only occurs just as the car starts to move on an incline or when holding position on an incline using the throttle and not the brake.
I do have a ticking noise that's been mentioned in another post as a diesel sounding engine. Dealer said it was the exhaust heat shield.

I haven't measured, but I'd say a 25-30 degree incline. If I switch to the throttle after holding the brakes then it won't role back as much. But if I modulate the throttle without using the brakes, it will role back. Is that not normal?
