Snake Oil?

So a few weeks back I started my car and it wouldn't idle past 2k RPM for the better part of the day. The car wouldnt really go past idle so I had to park it. Later that day I went out and the G started right up, no problems. However the CEL was on and has stayed on since then.

So...I took my car into the dealership yesterday for the CEL and a low battery (had to get a jump the other day)...their fix? $120 oil change. They said my oil was low, and the battery was low, so the mix of the two caused the car not to rev over 2k AND caused the CEL to come on. Does this sound right? Can low oil cause a CEL?
I feel like my dealer is pulling a fast one on me.

I'm not sure if that would cause the car to go into limp mode or not but I sure hope you aren't having oil consumption problems. How often do you check your oil level?

If your engine oil level was low this could effect the solenoids that control the VVTL which if they are not responding to controls by the ECU because of lack of oil pressure you will be in a limp mode.
Very common...

Umm....never. I only assumed that these luxury cars we own didn't burn a significant amount of oil for this to be an issue . Do G's have an oil burning issue?
I also thought there would be an low Oil light or Oil pressure light to signal such things.
