Does it even matter - are you tracking your X on a daily basis? Unless you're driving the car really hard on the street I can't really see it helping even if we could install one.

From: Framingham Ma,
This feel off, I was thinking of doing the 4.08 swap on mine, but how will the Tcase act? Anyone know, we all know that the tcase locks up if the rears slip? Has anyone done it ?

X won't have the luxury to change 4.08 FD ratio due to front diff.

I ended up doing the Quaife LSD on my G37x coupe because I plan on tracking very regularly. I would be curious if there was a way to make the 4.08 work on the X as well.

When it does, your front will spin at 3.3 vs rear at 4.08. So unless you can change front diff ratio too, then you can't run it. If you must have it, you can turn off the awd computer and be full time rwd.

You might be able to swap for 3.69 gears from the 07-08 G35x. Not sure how drastic the change is but should still be a noticeable since its a 10% higher ratio.

The entire carrier assembly should be direct bolt on judging from pictures and also the parts compatible across all the V36. You just might be the first 37x to do so.

It would be about equal to a manual going from a stock 3.68 to a 4.08.

This is what I've been trying to find out. I heard the rear differential bolts up directly from an 08 g35. However I'm not sure about the front and I've yet to get a definitive answer as no one seems to have done this on the X.

I found a front differential from an 08 g35x for $200 on eBay. I want to do the switch but I really don't want to be the guinea pig for this one.

And not to bomb the thread but to answer the OPs question yes an LSD on theX is a achievable. And it's been done along with the arguing as why or why not to do it. Check it out.
