3/4 throttle on on ramp was a joke in drive mode
This is my wife's car so just an observation on my part as she never ever will drive it like this.
Leaving light headed into long slight uphill grade to long sweeping onramp to freeway. I left it in auto and didnt use paddles just to see how it did. Well lemme tell you it was a joke to say the least. Left the light 3/4- WOT and it was hunting up and down for correct gear the whole time past 2nd gear. It couldnt decide whether to go to 3rd or not, then it went to 3rd, then back to 2nd, then 3rd then 2nd. I think the uphill grade confused it which gear to be in. Once I hit 60 into merging traffic i let up a tad and then gave it some throttle and it went hunting again for which gear to be in.
Went around to same on ramp again cause I wanted to try it with paddles this time same conditions and such. MUCH better and controlled shifts through each gear and no complaints other than it doesnt have the power im used to driving with. I had never used the paddles before so wasnt even sure how to get them to work so had to experiment around before I figured out how to make them work not knowing you cant just leave it in regular drive mode.
So the rest of the way home I used the paddles in town and the thrill wore off using them in about 5 minutes. I guess if you drive aggressively all the time they would be fun but other than that would never use em.
I'm liking the car though each time I drive it. Some 6 cyl newer Musrtang came up next to me on the freeway bumping his throttle trying to get me to race. I didnt even look over. Too bad I wasnt in my other car for him....

Well, the car has 3 basic modes.
D = gas saver, so the car was hunting gears trying to get economy
DS = aggressive shifting, holding gears, automatic downshifting, engine braking. This is what you should have been in.
M = full manual, which you played a bit with.
If you use the paddles in D, it goes back into D after not having any input for roughly 5-10 seconds. This is done under the assumption that you want to downshift a few gears in preparation of a pass, but otherwise want it to go back to how it was.

Ah so I should actually leave it in DS if Im driving in town or back roads and don't wanna use paddles I guess. I don't care about gas mileage so leaving it in D would only be for that it seems.
