Uprev on 2010 G37x coupe
Uprev on 2010 G37x coupe
I got the Uprev Osiris Standard pack but my ECU is too new so they don't have a modded version for it. They asked me to take a dump of my ECU to send to them, but I can't get it to work. None of the roms Jared sent me allowed me to even dump the ECU (dump ECU button greyed out) and he said there is a way to do a "Slow Dump", but I don't even have that button in my Osiris software (btw I tried this one two different computers and have the most updated osiris via the update utility).
The Uprev guys have been really helpful so far, but since ordering it november all I have is a really expensive data logger ; (
I'm just curious if any of you have successfully flashed or dumped a recent model G37 coupe with some of the newer roms (my specific one is 1NG7B and the latest Uprev has cracked seems to be 1NG5A) ? I am thinking maybe my cable is faulty??
Thanks for any insight!

My vert had a rom that they never cracked before. I dumped the ecu and sent it to sam at GTM and GTM sent it to Uprev. I was able to download it and then upload it. You can check the uprev cable and see if it has all the options there. There is a like a cable manager or something of the sort.

Oh and yeah, I checked in cable manager, it's licensed for Cipher and Osiris. Just for some reason the Dump ECU button is always greyed out (the Flash ECU is is available, but of course I would not want to flash with a ROM from an old ECU version...)
So for the results....
Subjectively, the car feels a LOT smoother. The acceleration is much more even due to 2 things. First is the WOT restriction removal, so it's giving it full power early on. Second, it def seems the throttle is much more linear (instead of only giving gas after about 1/4 pedal press and thus feeling "jumpy").
Objectively, I was able to confirm the car is faster with Cipher datalogging. I had it before the flash and measured some 0-60 runs. It's not scientific, but I'm not gonna shell out $$ for a dyno right now until I get some real mods.
The runs that I got before flash were around 5.6s 0-60, the runs I've been getting now are around 5.4s. All runs were done without any special launching, just stomp the throttle from full stop in DS mode. No wheel spin occured in either case (no slip light) and VDC was left on (for consistency, cus without it the light did come on once in a while). The numbers are still quite a bit slower than the "advertised" 5.1 of the 2010 G37, so I wonder if I'm dong something wrong....but at least it's consistent : )
I'm now collecting data so I can send the data to Uprev for their E-tune, which hopefully will improve the car even more.
So far, I think it was definitely worth it. I know I'm doing more mods later and getting a custom tune so it makes sense to get this now instead of a non-tunable flash like hypertech.
Wow, I didn't realize Uprev also boosts your MPG. Did a trip to DC today and usually I get about 22mpg, but this time it was reading 25! I almost couldn't believe it but it was holding pretty steady throughout the trip...
I think this tune is gonna start to pay for itself soon : )

im a little confused about this. so i buy the new ecu module, and send it in to get tuned, okay. BUT if i have intake exhaust ect ect how does that work, i just say: I have..... please make me go faster?
Uprev is a cable that attaches to your obd II port and to your computer. You can download your ecu rom to a file on your computer. You can send that in and get a tune done just from that, OR you can go to a shop and get tuned. They would do it on the spot and update the rom file accordingly. There is no new ecu module. Nothing to take out.
IMHO, if you are stock and just looking to get a little more HP and a smoother ride, it probably makes sense to do the eTunes. Once you get intake/exhaust, a custom tune should really help unlock the power.
