After buying my G37x, I had it checked by the local dealership and they said latest software was already installed. I dunno, doesn't seem as smooth between shifts on manual mode vs. other sports coupes/sedans I've owned (B6 S4 and W209 CLK55). Hopefully, I'll get used to it since I plan on keeping the car for a few years or until I can't tolerate it anymore.

Got stuck in stop and go traffic on the highway today and it was not fun at all. I feel for the people who have to do this everyday.

To me it seems like the problem lies around gears 3-4 and the torque convertor. Coasting at low speeds causes very harsh downshifts at times. Other times it feels like the car just lurches forward, probably something to do with torque convertor locking/unlocking.

Took my 2010 G37S 20th Anniv edition coupe out for a spin in ohio as the weather is not too bad today. I do notice slight lag from stop - but no hard downshifts at all in D....mild engine breaking when coming to a slow full stop. I only have 400 miles on the car though due to my heavy work schedule....when can I expect all hell to break loose? I wonder because I picked my car up new from the dealer in Feb 2011 if the update had been performed prior too.

Lothar52, Had to postpone Factory Tech meeting until Jan 18....I'll post the results. Funny thing, lately the car is More responsive less hesitant. As I have said many times before....never had a car that has behaved like this...strange, so strange.

took my 2009 g37x in for service today, complained of shift problems, infiniti did the tsb fix, cannot believe the difference, what a thrill to drive, it did not eliminate all the issues but 95% gone, the car moves and behaves like never before, extremely happy, will see how long it lasts

Cool Diddo

DOMOI recently joined the forum (bought my G on December 10th). I went from driving a 97 240sx. Loved that car but i was ready for an upgrade. anyways....

I went to my local infiniti to get an oil change with ester. Mentioned that it was downshifting hard and they said they would check it. I didnt want to mention the TSB since that apparently upsets them... but I did anyways. When I returned the tech said they did not apply the TSB and that the tranmission fliud was low. They topped it off and said the "problem did not return". Well it's still there and now I am as frustrated as the rest of you. I guess ill complain on my next oil change and see what they do from there.

If your tranny fluid was low wouldn't there have been an indicator going off on the dash? We are not even supposed to change our tranny fluid for the lifetime of the car according to the maintenance guide because it's next to impossible to do so I'm curious to know how they managed to top it up. Sounds like you need to change dealers.

I agree. Dealer is a liar.

Instruct them to do the TSB required by your vin number, or that you will contact Infiniti consumer affairs.... Then find another dealer.

My car was built in June 2011. Where can I find the info for what VIN #'s are covered by the TSB?

I believe it is in the TSB document, which I think is posted somewhere on the forum.

I received a survey from the service manager in an email this morning. I expressed my opinion to them and asked the manager to contact me. We will see what happens from here. I will keep you all posted.
