Just Ordered my 4.08 Final Drive

So I just ordered my 4.08 final drive from mynismo.com. Going to install it on my 7at g37. Anyone have any tips before the install? Is there a break in period? Also this might be a dumb question but do I need to change any fluids because of the install and if so any recommendations?

Thanks guys I hope to have this install within 2 weeks but knowing me itll be most likely a week .

Considering the questions you are asking, you realize that this is NOT something you should try to do by yourself, right? I'm not knocking you (I'm not doing mine myself either), just making sure you don't have a disaster. You will need to refill the differential when it's put back in the car. You really need a shop who knows what they are doing to swap out the gear and adjust it properly. Removal and install of the differential isn't too tough, and you could possibly save a few bucks by doing that yourself if you want. I searched for a very long time to find any place that would even touch it around my area. And be aware that your cruise control will no longer work once you have made the swap.

I guess my original post came out wrong, I am not doing it myself I found a few differential shops that can do it. I am just wondering if the fluid needs to be changed and if so what kind should I change it too? Also if there is a break in period i just want to be informed before The install

I didn't know if you were going to try to DIY.

Page 9-2 in the owner's manual tells you this: Genuine NISSAN Differential Oil Hypoid Super GL-5 80W-90 or API GL-5, Viscosity SAE 80W-90

I plan to change my oil in the differential about 3000 miles after the gears are swapped. Here's something to read:
Proper Differential Maintenance Break-in and Routine

I was reading your diy for changing differential oil and you uses another type of oil. How is that working out. Also I assume from your last sentence that you are going to perform this mod as well

So far, so good. Yes I will be doing the gear swap sometime, I can't say exactly when. If I can get 100% confirmation that the Nismo finned differential cover will fit the G37 (it should), I'll put it on too when changing the gear.

I am just hoping that the ring and pinion swap will install without issue. Do you know if neverbonestock was auto or manual? I don't know if me having a 7at will cause any issues.

I have a manual. I have no problems with my cruise control or any other functions. Must be a auto thing ..

Did you need to add any additive to help the gears lock or are you having no problem?

Hopefully i can just replace ring and pinion and dont need to replace anything else. I am seeing some 370z's with 7at replace the whole dif well it was just one guy and the post was from 2009 so I am hoping i can just replace the ring and pinion.
