Exclamation Did a burn out and something happened

hi guys,

Well i was at the light, and felt a little aggressive. I havent LIT UP THE TIRES yet, so i thought HECK WHY NOT? I have 285s on the rear and i lit them up for quite a distance, felt awesome..but i did notice in the higher RPM (with TRACTION OFF) the fuel cut off still happened in higher RPMS?

Well my issue is after that i parked it after and i smelled a burning plastic smell - NOT BURNT RUBBER..but more like plastic. Anyone know what this could be? I do have a Stillen Long Tube Cold Air intake also.

The smell is gone now - but i wanted to know cause it stunk up my garage for a while. Got worried.

What you are saying sounds like you burnt the clutch and thats what the smell is comming from. But I would hope you could tell the difference between them. On the other hand, If no the clutch I would just have the dealership or whoever check everything out on your next oil change. You said the smell had stop so there is really nothing to worry about in my opinion.

Oh man, made me think of this. Obviously if the car is still driving and, as said, the smell is gone it's probably not this bad.

maybe its a sign to not play with your car on the road and should be done on a close road or track?

..but how could it be clutch smell..as i just got in gear quickly...once in gear your clutch is no longer "slipping" which would not cause a clutch smell? or am i not right?

It was your clutch crying for some relief...don't be mad at ppl telling you to keep it on the track...they're right...

You're telling me that you were spinning the tires in 3rd? Did you leave a trail?

You're either running some really crappy tires, or spinning something else.
