rpm jumps down Help!

hey,

i just got my ark exhuast installed today, and i encountered a weird rpm promblem, it doesnt happen all the time, but it happens like 3-4 times a day,
the rpm jumps down 2 slits before 0, and it feels like the car is going to shut off, but it jumps right back up under 1, and this happens on Idle only!, when driving its fine, do you think its the exhuast causing the promblem? or do i need to clean my throttle bodies? its weird because it never did that before i installed the exhaust.

thanks for the help

It's not "normal". Do this DIY, both of you.

HKS filters? the green foam stuff? Those are not meant for street daily driving filtration. Take them off now and install a proper dry type filter. Those are meant strictly for circuit racing where maximum airflow is needed and they are there simply to prevent large debris from getting sucked into turbos/engines.

they're still the same material and personally I wouldn't use them. I had a really old article wriiten that compares filter media types from different manufactureres. I don't have it any more, anyhow they HKS green foam stuff was the worst. You'd be surprised at the junk they found going through the filter. The AEM dryflow had both the best filtration as well as the best flow characteristics.

Wow not to say you are wrong , but Ive read pages and pages of nothing but great reviews, they are non oiled filters that are reusable and suppose to be a great substitute for stocks, I've had for like 10-15,000 miles and they still look pretty clean .

The HKS drop-in filters are fine. They're actually better then the K&N oil based filters.

sorry but great reviews from who? engineers in a lab with scientific data and testing? Reusable and non-oiled doesn't really mean anything. And personally I'd be worried about having a clean filter after driving so much. Filter's are supposed to trap dirt, if the filter media is clean then all the dirt is just passing through.

That's exactly my point. They are meant to provide the most airflow strictly for racing purposes. High levels of filtration are not as necessary on race cars as they are on street cars.

I found the test online. It was done by a Japanese magazine.

What does it tell you if you have driven 15K mikes with those filters and they are still clean? Is there no dust and dirt in your environment? And if there is, where do you think it is going if it's not getting trapped in your filtration media?
