I just changed oil yesterday using the PL14610 and engine start-up much quieter. Much less valve clatters. I don't think the oil have anything to do with it, just the filter have a better anti drain back valve.

All thanks again. Purchased the Purolator PL14612 PureONE 2 pack from Amazon. Got this part number from the Purolator site. I see others have mentioned PL14610. Any idea why you are using different part number?

Wix filters for me. Used them for years. And they are so much better than the Infiniti Fram knock offs.

The official filter to use, according to Purolator, is PL14612.

Application Guide Results

I think some people wanted to use a slightly larger filter for the possibility of better filtration ability. Personally I'd rather stick with the specs -- I'm not sure if using something different might affect oil pressure or have some unintended consequence.

I used the PL14612 and it was an exact match to the OEM filter in terms of size. I'd recommend an oil filter wrench as there was no removing the original one with out it.

Forgot to order those online, big mistake.
Ended up paying 14 dollars from Autozone for a K&N.

And 6.01 for the dang copper crush washers from the nissan stealership. The guy wouldn't even spot me a penny so he gave me 99 cents back..

Was that just for a single washer !? I got a 10-pack for $7.50 from https://www.courtesyparts.com/

Shipping might not make that worth it by itself but I was also buying several quarts of ester oil alongside it. So better deals are to be found.

Technically if the old one is not broken you might get away with reusing it I guess. Probably not highly recommended, but some people reuse the old ones several times with no issues. Or you could get one of those fumoto-type quick-drain valves.

I reused the original crush washer on my Nissan Frontier for about 100k miles (about 25 oil changes) and never lost a drop of oil.

Oh ok, didn't realize that. I cut the old one off and put a new one on. They were 2 dollars each and I bought 3 for 6 bucks, figured I would need them again in the future.

I guess I'll just reuse them next time if no one has had any problems doing that.
