You did! How's the dude with the silver g37 doing? Haven't heard from him for awhile. U should let me know the next time you come down. We can probably set up a mini meet and go eat or something.

[QUOTE=StopTheExcuses;2920564]Yeah, that's true. But, this is my daily driver and I really need it to still be reliable and get at least 150K out of the motor before it pops! That's why I'm hoping it makes good power at only 8psi. I'm sure getting the tuned modified for 93 octane will help. The only thing that scares me about running more boost is not the displacement, as 3.7 liters is PLENTY for only 8psi, it's just the compression is so high on the VQ37 and you have to be careful how much boost you run.[/

This is my DD also and I hope it'll last. I'm not too sure if our engines will last over 50k on FI applications. So just be prepared for the worse.

If u get the basic kit u shouldn't get a aftermarket tune cuz that'll void your warranty for the blower and other stuff.

Likewise, a larger supercharger can flow more air at the same pressure than a smaller one.

Think Mcdonalds straw vs coffee stirrer. You can blow through them with equal pressure, but the McDonalds one will easily flow more.
Very interesting. So that is why larger turbos always make more power at the same boost level than smaller turbos I assume. Let me ask you this, 8 psi is 8psi correct? Irregardless of the turbo/supercharges size? How do you feel about the longevity of the VQ37 with 8psi from the Vortech V3?

Well, I would sure as hell hope the engine would last more than 50K with a supercharger! Imagine having to fork out cash every 50k for a new longblock. 8psi and only 150 more hp than stock isnt an earth shattering difference and I would assume with a good tune 100K should be easily obtainable out of a stock VQ37 motor. How are the old VQ's holding up to boost over time?

I hope so too! I have no plans on selling this car anytime soon so it better hold up lol. But if it does blow then ill rebuild it to accept boost. You're right, most majority people that blows their engine is from TT with bad tune. Ive only heard a few guys blew their engine with a SC. So our chances will be slim unless u always redline it lol. There's guys running TT and making 500whp on stock block and still no problems yet. And I hope Stillen can work out a aftermarket engine warranty for us.

Engine warranty is almost wrapped up. Should have detailed info on that soon (less than a week or so).

If everything continues on pace as it is, Weiboy your kit should ship tomorrow to Beshoff.. but I am still speaking early, but it looks like we can have it up there in time for an install and before that show, if they are ready to jump on it.

I'll have more info tomorrow morning to confirm, but no more need to tell us to 'go to hell' in chinese..

Are you kidding?? We have kept a service bay and a technician standing ready for weeks ready to do this!

I was following the purchases from wei. Just wonder why such a delay on the kit to be ready to be shipped out since all needed was to finish the tune. Isn't wei's tune basically a basic tune or almost the same as the tune on most of the kits that were shipped out already?

Not only that, a larger turbo is likely to have a larger a/r and run more efficient (albeit, at the potential cost of transient response and/or later spoolup; there are a TON of factors here outside of the turbo itself).

That being said, PSI is simply a pressure measurement. 8 psi is 8 psi, no matter if its measured inside a rubber balloon, a pressure cooker, or a charge pipe on a car.

I can't comment on longevity as I have neither firsthand experience nor secondhand from friends that own it (yet).

Don't forget 5AT...Oh and do you have navigation? No? What about convertible top? No?

there are DOZENS of different ECU's and each one needs to be correctly calibrated.

If we were doing a piggy back tuner we would have been done with all of this weeks, maybe even months, ago. But, going through the ECU takes more time to develop. It's easier for the customer and a more precise of way doing the tuning, but the development is way more time consuming.
