You must have hit your head, if you are suggesting Stillen SC.

The only reason people say stillen is junk is because they use the stock wire harness given to them by stillen and dont do the install properly. IF and this is a BIG IF done right, stillen is awesome. But that is very rare!

A lot's been said about the Stillen SC let's not start another GTM vs Stillen here please.

If you got a 7-speed, that will most likely be your limiting factor, some argue a VB upgrade and uprev transmission tune will do, others say a completely rebuilt transmission is needed.

If you got a 6-speed MT, you'll be good with a clutch and flywheel. The engine then becomes your bottle neck. You need a tuner that knows what he's doing. Torque output gives a good indication on how safe/aggressive the tune is since its related to ignition timing, which is something that should be tuned carefully on our stock high compression engines.

For every problematic Stillen SC out there, I'll bet there are ten unsung units providing adrenalin and grins. It's all about setup and tune, as we all will agree.

Thread drift? This topic went from engine HP capacity, to trans capabilities, to driving prowess, to line pressures or not, to superchargers, to bashing. LOL! All while the OP has LONG since departed.

An average topic.

I have a Stillen SC. Installed at about 2K now it's at 23K stock tranny. I'm VERY happy with my Stillen SC. The warranty has been used for an electrical problem in the fuel pump. Saved me the cost of the part and labor. Many don't care for Stillen but every time I've had an issue Stillen was there as well as UpRev. One day when I have more time I'll write about my experience with Stillen.

Not to bash you or anything but this is not about Stillen SC's . The focus of the tread is stated >>>>>> How many horsepower can G37 handle? (GTM stage 1 SC).

most kit sold for VQ37HR between 400 to 520 , the trans will hold but you need to check 3 things before :

1- trans cooler .
2- VB if you drive your car hard ( track racing or street racing )
3- choice your tuner carefully

This is not by experience, but theoretically it should hold
