should i get an UpRev tune ?

Im thinking about having my car flashed with an UpRev tune but the guy at the shop that does it around here hasn't done any G37's yet and says the one AT 370z he did only got minimal gains but he was able to make it run less lean. He says with my exhaust and intakes plus the tune i should make a little power but no where near the MT ones. He says its $600 for the tune and dyno's, is it worth it just to get my car to run smoother with the mods i already have ?

no. you need at least test pipes to get gains.

Yes. You don't need test pipes.

For some reason the G37 tends to make more gains with the Uprev then the 370z not sure why. My tuner has seen stock G37's gain 13 HP on a mustang dyno. I would say go for it.

i just think for the $1000 for the UpRev w/ a tune you won't feel huge gains in performance and on the track.

$1,000? No UpRev tune is around $550.00 Personally its a good hp/dollar gain. People are spending $1200-$1300 on exhaust, $500 on intake and gaining 15 if that at the wheels.
Thats $1700 bucks for not much gains..

Several people have gained 15-20 whp for less than $600.00 with UpRev seems like a bargain..

Well you need the supporting mods to enable your tuner to be able to gain those extra ponies with a custom tune.

All you really need is a set of test pipes. They can advance the timming and adjust the fuel etc..

So far my tuner Jack Cecil from HP Logic had seen 13 whp on a mustang dyno on a bone stock g37.

If I had a tuner near me, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

i say wait....you obviously have the 'mod-bug'. you're going to want hi flow cats or headers or whatever to lean your car out further. but if you honestly feel the only breather mods you're going to want are i/e then by all means try to squeeze as much power out with a tune....but i gaurantee you that you'll want more lol.

^^It depends on a tuner..Basically they both do their jobs.
you get a nice small handheld device if you go with Cobb.
you are looking at least $1,000 to get a custom tune with Cobb while Uprev costs around $500.
