Got my car tuned with UpRev

So I get a call from a local UpRev dealer saying they think they might be able to tune my car (been hearing that for the past year now). They ask me to come in and have my ECU ROM file read and sent to UpRev in attempt to have it cracked and what do you know...

A few days later I get another phone call saying my friends G37 (Gulf Spec) was tuned flawlessly! I book an appointment and get down with that!

My current mods are: Stillen G3 Intakes, FI Test Pipes & Catback and UR Crank Pulley. I'll let the pix do the talking now:

Strapped on the heart-breaker dyno (Mustang Dyno)

Wideband Sensor in place

And we're ready for action!

Almost an hour later, the tuner was done. My main issue of running too lean was solved thankfully as you can see.

According to the tuner, unlike American Muscle cars which he tunes a lot, our VQ's barely respond to changes in AF ratio in the power department, but reducing the AFR to 12.5 ultimately allowed him to push ignition timing even more which was the key! I honestly was not expecting that much of a gain but that tuner seemed to know what he was doing from the first phone conversation I had with him. My maximum power came in at 7200rpm before the tune, after messing with AFR & Ignition Timing, the car kept pulling up all the way to 7600rpm!

Here's a video's of both runs:

And finally, the dyno sheet:

Before the tune, I put down 262whp @ 7200rpm & 289 N.m
After the tune, I put down 296who @ 7600rpm * 321 N.m

I was very impressed with the numbers, but those don't mean anything if my butt dyno doesn't confirm. So I took the car out for a spin and all I could say was wow. None of the mods I ever installed ever felt like that after their install, you can feel the gains from really low. Even on 5th on the highway, it's takes less effort to speed up. On 1st, don't even dream about driving in a straight line on tarmac. We went Auto crossing today and it honestly felt a tad harder to drive due to its tail breaking loose with every blip on that throttle. I cannot be any happier to be honest, not without boost at least lol

Another cool trick they did was upload a valet-map which you can cycle to via cruise control. The valet map basically limited the revs to 3k and the speed to 70kph (43mph) I recorded a ghetto video of that:

Don't waste your time on preloaded maps or maps that don't tamper around with your ignition timing. UpRev is the way to go!!

My G is back to life!

I believe using 93 Octane fuel to push even more ignition timing was a key

Wow man. Nice looking gains. Glad you finally got a tune in. You were running lean as shiet. Care to convert those torque numbers over to real units for us? lol

Sam congrats...30whp + on a mustang dyno is amazing with just a tune. that gain on your power curve is just shocking. this is great news. thanks for the post.

The mustang is the heart breaker for the over all number but 34 from just a tune is incredible. Congrats.

Optimal air fuel at redline is anywhere between 12.5 and 12.8 for peak horsepower for our cars.

Sam congrats on the amazing gains! I know those Mustang dynos have a tendency to leave a bad taste in mouths of many, but at the end of the day it's all about the gains.
