Nice short article. Thumbs up to Stillen for the explanations in their design and overview.

Looks like a pretty cool design, something different that's for sure.

Looks pretty damn cool. But the stillen chargers are notoriouly under powered. On the G35 the most power you could get out of one was around 350-380 whp.

^^^ That 's true but Josh (think that s his name) at Stillen said that this new design will pump out more HP for sure. We'll have to wait and see how this turns out.

The votech SC they are using instead of the Eaton (G35) will have more power for sure, let's not judge this based on old designs and cars

Stillen did mention that their old kits werent intended to put down insane numbers to start with. 380whp on a VQ35 is a nice 130-150whp gain over stock. They were using a top mount twin scroll blower which was intended to be CARB legal too! That's a huge restriction right there.. You can read more about it:
STILLEN : STILLEN G35 Intercooled Supercharger System

The new one is Vortech blower which will push in more boost and given our high compression ratio, displacement, their plenum design and air-water intercooler, should be promising.

Very true. I think they saw the G35 charger as a big mistake. No one wants a restriced tame blower if they are spending thousands of dollars. We want MORE POWER !!!!

Yeah who doesn't

But when both your state and dealer approve of it from being CARB Legal, then one might reconsider which is why they gave that option

Both good points, and both addressed in our first blog post, discussing the goals and design elements put into our 350Z/G35 Supercharger system, which achieved all of our design goals.. what was different was the eventual desires of the end consumer, after owning such a kit, and the gearheads who wanted additional power ultimately..

To excerpt the blog post here: 370Z / G37 Supercharger System Progress: R&D : STILLEN

When the 350Z came out in 2003, Steve Millen and our engineers sat down to discuss the main goals for the STILLEN forced induction solution.

The consensus was clear; the STILLEN VQ35 Supercharger System had to be CARB legal and had to offer a 3 year/36,000 mile engine warranty. It had to be a turn key, ready to run kit and offer great power gains. To meet those demands Steve and the STILLEN engineers decided on the Eaton MP62 blower.

It met all of the requirements and worked perfectly! That kit was a complete success and was the first supercharger on the market to achieve CARB legality and offer an engine warranty, with gains of approximately 100 horsepower at the wheels.
With this kit we're looking at a variety of options.. CARB-legal kit, Competition kit with tuning, and a Tuner kit supplying the hard parts and letting those who want to push the limits of HP their own path via their own tuning and boost levels..
