Just thought I'd share my story about my 2nd oil change, didn't want to make a new thread so I'll just put it here. So I had my first oil change back in Oct., dealer put in regular oil. About a week later I noticed the ticking noise and I called the dealership. They told me next time I get an oil change I would need to use the Nissan ester oil.

So today I come in told them about what happened before. The service advisor explains to me that it would be about $90 for the oil. I asked him if this wasn't covered by my extended warranty package that included free oil changes. He says "No." Well I knew he was either lying to me or just didn't know what he was talking about. From what I remember members on the forums have been getting the ester oil added for free.

I ended up calling Infiniti Consumer Affairs and spoke to this nice lady named Meagan. Gave her my info and explained the situation to her. She then asked me to hand my cell over to the service advisor. They talked for about 3 minutes and then the service advisors calls the tech working on my car and tells him to put the ester oil in.

But yup, that was my expirience today at my dealership. Also for my 3rd oil change, I'm thinking about switching to a synthetic based ester oil. Where can I purchase them either at a store or online for the best price?

Does anyone know definitively, if the factory puts in Nissan Ester oil when they ship the car?
