10k would be good for an SC setup with supporting mods & labor IMO

nope youll need more, 10k IS NOT ENOUGH FOR FI hands down. Even if you think you have enough and this is it, for sure for sure I wont need anything else, watch how fast youll need something youll never even know youll need, then ull be like wtf. But that is welcome to the wonderful world of FI, its a hate and love relationship. If you have a 5AT and want TT with all supporting stuff guarantee you its 16k to do it right.

Honestly, I don't know where this notion that "sc is cheaper but makes less power and is more reliable" comes from. 99% of the people who say this have never gone FI and will never go FI.

Boost is boost. A reliable SC setup at a given power level will likely cost similar to a reliable TT setup, which likely will cost a similar amount to a Nitrous setup over time at a similar power level.

Just a FYI, pictures make it very clear the GTM blower is a Rotrex, and Rotrex blowers are not known for their long lives.

You'd be lucky to get 50k miles out of the blower. Much less if you actually use the power. Additionally, they're rather limited in potential. Kraftwerks has gone down the Rotrex route for a VQ years ago, and they decided that a market is not feasible. They are the largest Rotrex distributor in North America. You may also know them by their other brands, including Skunk2 and Jackson Racing (Yes, THAT Jackson Racing).

10k will get you boosted. That boost won't last if you actually enjoy it for more than the occasional dyno day.

If it's a DD a SC G37 will beat 99.9% of the cars out there so I would go for that (it my personal choice as well in the next year or two depending on school costs).

BUT, like everyone is saying, you need at least 150% of the cost just to be safe and have that "oh sh*t" money around...

A bolt-on SI will give a G37 problems.
A stock s2k will give a G37 problems.

A bolt-on SRT4 will eat a G37.

Remember, these neons and Hondas are significantly lighter than a G, something in the realm of 500-1000 lbs, depending on the specific comparison.

They're also geared specifically for performance, whereas the G is not.

What you're saying is somewhat true however, the TT comes with twin turbines and compressors, more piping has to be done etc.. For a simple stage 1 setup, a SC will cost less in the parts dept and even less in the labor dept. The money saved there could be used to buy a few supporting mods and even have a little left for the "oh shiat"

Still haven't seen a GTM boosted car that went "oh shiat" yet though

Yea I was e-mailing the guys at GTM and if you want a good setup you are looking at like 16 grand when all is said and done im talking everything you need... I may volunteer to go on another tour to afghanistan so I can afford it and not bankrupt myself on my G when I get back... I know you guys hate them but I want to have some sort of audio system put in the car as well as more power... I

Forget S/C. Save up for the GTM TT set up.
Remember how many vq35 people dislike S/C.
I know people who used to have S/C and have upgraded to TT for more power lol.
