1500 rpm 6mt

I have a 6MT and when the rpms fall below 1500 theres a power surge and it spikes up a little before falling back down to idle.. THis can be quite annoying because i like to leave my car in gear till idle before throwing the car in neutral. Because of this, i have to hit the clutch at around 1600 RPM when coming to a light, otherwise i get a jolt and it feels like crap.. Is this normal for the 6MT?

Does this happen in every gear? I do the same thing and haven't experienced it.

in every gear plus neutral.. if im in neutral and I rev up when i let go of the gas, when the rpms fall to 1500 it spikes up to 2 then goes to idle..

the jolt is more noticeable in the lower gears.. almost non exsitent in 6th.

Not normal. Call your dealership to have it looked at.

mine does this too. when at around 1400 rpm the rpms stay there for like a split second and them drop down, like its shutters kinda.

the car is embarrassing....especially when you have a busted fender and no one o blame for it

I only hate two things about it. Seatbelts scratch my neck. BIG A$$ mirrors. So far everything else seems fine.

Call your dealer and have it checked out. Good luck!

I don't know if these are isolated incidents or if the fact that I haven't had this happen is the isolated incident...it seems like the problems with the transmission are totally at random (ie not JUST 08's or JUST 09's,etc)

Hopefully Infiniti will fix whatever it is that is causing the 'random' problems!

OMG how funny, I JUST wrote a post on this. I am experiencing the same issue! Sorry, I didn't see your post, otherwise I wouldn't have created a separate thread.

LOL! Yeah the mirrors are a blind spot when turning corners with middle medians. That and going in reverse hinting brake you hear the ERRRRRRR Train Brake lol! Of course this is normal on all gs to squeal in reverse braking.

I agree Steve it sounds like sht man! The stock clutch is very noisy and rattles sounds like sht! It almost sounds like something is loose down there.

Now I dont have this surge issue. I do have a surge issue when starting the car lately on cold mornings. Like the car normally idles high when cold I've had it go up and down idling like its going to stall. But I dont notice any spikes or surges in throttle driving.

Either way you guys should take your car in and complain. If my car makes any noise I've never heard before it goes to the dealership period. I paid 41,000 with tax and I don't own a home so this is my greatest investment and I wont take no **** about it being fixed! If I have to Ill get my Lawyer, BBB, Lemon Law involved. So far I havnt had issues with my Dealership but it seems they and most dealerships dont care to fix these issues. Famous case of "don't let the door hit you on the a$$ on the way out!" Thats usually the dealership way once you've signed and bought it.

PS: I'm going to buy a hi-perf clutch and Flywheel and get rid of this crap! Just waiting for Tax Return time

I also have this problem... and yea, it can be really embarrassing ! I have had it in for service to look at it. They could not explain it. I managed to reproduce it it for one of the techs who came for a drive with me... he said it was because it was a racing clutch. lol. Overall I am disappointed with the performance of the clutch, and expected more from a 60k (cdn) car.

Im new to g37's and this forum, so i dunno if this is a known issue, but i hope its fixable.
