I paid 480.00 shipped from my nismo.com and was quoted 300.00 for install. Everyone I have talked to that own a 350Z , G35 or a 370Z that has done this say the car is totally different . We shall see...

According to this gear calculator, with a 4.08 rear end, a 5AT will be doing 69mph @ 3000rpm in 5th gear.. Ouch, I'm certainly going deaf cruising on the highway (4300@100mph )

Can't wait for the review. Don't know if I could put up with cruising at 3k only at 69mph when at times im cruising at 80+. Someone mentioned putting in the 3.9 from the vert. Wonder if this would work almost as well.

Haha true. Would it even be that big a RPM diff between the 3.9X and the 4.08?

I threw the 3.9 gear out there as a kind of best of both worlds compromise. The 4.08 will obviously be better from a pure performance standpoint. If Betty wasn't a DD, I'd seriously consider the 4.08. Hell, I may do it anyway depending on NBS's feedback after he's had some time to give us a review.

Mine is a DD too. I just want to have a little more pep until GTM and Stillen figure out their SC. Then no more DD..

I'm thinking the stock vs. 4.08 0-60 comparisons may make this a popular mod.

NBS, think you can get multiple "before" runs of your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times (enough data to get a good average) as well as highway MPG in a controlled environment (maybe the exact some stretch of road with cruise set at a certain speed) so that you'll have objective data to compare after the swap? Some good reliable data will be excellent. You can validate the gains by averaging the same number of 0-60, 1/4 mile, and MPG runs after the swap to have objective data.
