Tranny (electrical?) Issues
Okay, so car is 1.5 months old and is now back in the hospital for the 3d time. 1st was hard 4 to 3(2?) downshift on decel that dealer stated wouldn't be fixed by reflash TCM cus it already had the software update upon delivery. 2d was for getting stuck in 1st after redlight (while in D) that could not be overcome by DS or paddles. Restart cured the problem and could not be replicated. Dealer couldn't figure it out, agreed it was a problem and was awaiting a response from Japan.
Now, was following a car up a mountain road in D @ steady 25mph and HUGE clunk from tranny and immediate decel to 5mph with steady throttle. Wife almost hit dash and freaked out. stopped car, sat for 30 sec's scanning everything, then started driving. Car accel normally to about 30 then stuck in 3d. Tapped paddles, stayed in 3d despite up and down attempts. Switched to DS...same. Engine started to bog as car slowed then Revs jumped from 1500 to 2100 and back very rapidly about 8 times despite no throttle movement. Slip light came on at the 2100 point each time then shut off. Stopped car. Turned it off, waited 20-30secs and rebooted it :-) Car started right up and accelerated to a blistering 5mph despite floored throttle and stayed there. Parked, waited about 15 min, got in started right up and worked perfect the rest of the way home. Started up and ran perfect all the way to its unscheduled 7am appt at the hospital too.
Been there 28 hours so far and still no word...
Wife doesn't want it back.
