RB26DETT swap - is it possible?
Hey guys, I was wondering if it would be possible/feasible to do an R34 Skyline RB26DETT swap into the G as an alternative to the GTM TT setup. I saw a couple of these motors on Ebay and I was just curious. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Anything can be done with enough money. You will end up spending twice as much money and have no support. You car will also be out of commission for at least 2-3 months. If you ever were going to do a motor swap, why RB26? Go for a LS7

since when did drivers seat position have any effect on a motor swap? I have seen this done in a 350z.. is it pricey? sure.. just depends how hardcore you want to get.. 2jz and RB motors can easily make 600-800 hp safely.. and then with a good tuner you can keep on rasiing that number.. then again if you are going to spend that much cash you might as well just build your VQ motor from top to bottom and run some massive single turbo setup

Very smart.. you're going from a 3.7 V6 to a 2.6 I6
Just get her built and boosted at GTM and call it a day

That would be insanely absurd to do. You're taking a motor that debuted ages ago and plopping it into a Chassis that's been out for two years. If you had an older car like a 280z or a 240sx, than go for it. Drivablilty goes way down the drain once you go all out on custom swaps. (I know first hand, I have an SR20DET swapped 240sx). It just would not be that fun of a daily driver.
I would just stick with the GTM kit or fab up something yourself. Much more cost effective and it saves you from dropping in a 20 year old engine into your new chassis.
