That happened to me a couple of times, but it usually just works itself out.

Are you parking on a hill?

When parking the vehicle from any driving position (D or R) what i usually do is:
While foot still on brake pedal, shift into Neutral, apply parking/foot brake, release brake pedal then shift into Park....that way the weight of the vehicle is being held by the parking/foot brake and not the transmission.

When shifting into a driving position (D or R):
While foot on brake pedal, shift into either of those driving position then release parking/foot brake.

When i use this method i don't have to apply much force in order to shift into any driving position from park and i don't get that clunk sound if i was to park on a hill.

Exactly what I do. I used to have a Volvo S80 that would stick like that on a hill. Once I had to actually rock it up to get the tranny to release.
