Power Enterprises has a kit for the GTR. I wonder if they would translate that over to the G37. Engine block is the same right? So the bracket should fit. Just need piping and tuning. And with a supercharger no need for intercooler.

Supercharger shouldn't be near the price of a TT right? Otherwise it would not be worth it to get a supercharger. More gains with a TT.

I think a supercharger would be better... at least for me. I would rather have the instant power at the bottom of the powerband... more instant kick. How many people spend most of the time driving around between 3500 -7500 RPM's constantly?

Of course it shouldn't, but if installing it will require pulling out the engine, then what you save in parts will be spent on labor.

listen and read about how some people who had a 1st gen G or Z Supercharged and then went to a turbo kit b/c of the potential. it's all in the matter of what you plan to expect in gains.

there just isn't enough space to place a s/c into our engine bays w/o modificatios

I think the GTR has a 3.8L engine so not same block...plus it's TT so I'm sure there are other differences..

Definitely agree with you Kenny, turbo does have more potential but for someone just looking for a nice 400+ whp and a peace of mind, I'm sure SC is the way to go

The 3.8 is just the size of the displacement. That could be accounted for with different rods or pistons, differently shaped heads, and with that small of a difference even a thicker head gasket could be responsible. As for the TT of the car those are installed under the engine, and the SC's are installed next to the top of the engine. If anybody does install the SC under the engine they are making it A LOT harder than they need to. Check out this site, Power Enterprise.

The engine bay in the GT-R is complete different than the 370z and G37. I have taken a long look under the hood of my G37 and a few 370z's and the space is really tight up top.

In the previous gen GT-R's yes, not anymore though

The VQ37 Engine has a compression of 11.0:1 with a 95.5 mm bore and 86 mm stroke

The VR38 Engine has a compression of 9.0:1 with a 95.5 mm bore and 88.6 mm stroke

Both made from cast Aluminium too! Seems like the VR is just a stroked VQ then!

Well, nothing a little more searching won't answer:

The VR engine is a 3.8 L V6 piston engine from Nissan. The engine is the product of further development of the widely successful VQ engine series, in particular drawing experience from the JGTC racing engines as well as Nissan's VRH engines from vehicles such as the Nissan R390 GT1.
