Maintenance light: oil and filter

I just got an oil change at 15000K mile, after a few days, the maintenance light in the console came on, warning about changing oil and the oil filter. Is this a preset warning? Because I don't think I've ever set it before. Or is there actually a sensor that detects the oil?

It's preset... you can change the duration (mileage) yourself too

Haha, I've never set it before. Was it just factory setting? Was hoping there's something like in the corvette that checks the oil......

No such luck. Even my wife's crappy chevy Equinox even has that - it monitors driving mileage and habits and tell you what percentage of oil life is left as you drive. It also has a pressure reading for all 4 tires. But not on a $40K + Infiniti. Disappointing.

You can reset the monitor and change your oil change interval to any multiple of 250 miles that you like.
