Engine Rev

When my car is in park or neutral and I rev the engine, I can't seem to get it over 5,000 RPM. Is this normal? Anyone else have this?

Yup normal... Stupid safety feature... Put it in 1st and you should be able to rev the poop out of it... Just don't forget to leave the clutch in...

normal, but easy to bypass just rev and then re-rev while it falls

That's only on the 6MT's right? Cause my 5AT revs just up to the rev limiter in park and neutral.

My 6MT definitely reaches redline when parked and in neutral, with or without the parking break on. And I don't have to do that "re-rev when it's falling" thing. It'll go as high as I want it no matter what.
