weird about the GT-R topgear did multiple launches although they do say be careful about doing it on rough roads, ECT... i know my dad will be trying his out
Revving in neutral and dropping it to Drive is a major fail. I think it's some type of Manual mimicking stunt that inbred redneck 12 year olds must have came up with playing with Daddy's pick up truck in Alabama. Anyone who even considers doing that and did not know it was badd should not be in a G37 because that's a major 88' ruster Ford Tempo move. (not to mention it's useless as Autos engage from neutral to Drive pretty slowly and the revs don't mesh in like a clutch dump).
That's murder on your tranny. Just stay on the break and rev the car up to the rpms you wanna launch at. Plus, it won't shift as good in D as it does in DS mode.
I got better 1/4 mile times just mashing gas pedal in D, then revving up and going in DS. So did car and driver or some other magazine that tested a stock G. The best times were in D, mashing the gas.
Spoke to Mike at Riverside Infiniti a few days ago... Said there is actually a Launch Control Type Launch for you Auto guys... Said something about slowly pushing in the gas with your left foot on the brake until you feel the brake pedal sink in... And I dont remember the rest... Invloves some more stuff too... Says you can bring the revs up to about 5K and take off with minimal slippage... I'll call him, hopefully he can chime in... NO B.S. B.T.W...
would love to know more about that.. ive been all over the net and couldnt find anything regarding launch control.. when i tried it, my tyres were slippin.. could it be infiniti's little secret?
