^Yes. That's the good thing about a piggy back ecu. You can cnage the settings when you get new mods or even test out different settings to see which one you like, and you can go back and forth bewtween settings.

Yes. The one most are anticipating is the Cobb access port.

...and you can take it off or reset it to factory settings before you take your car in for service.

i think there the same just trieng to make sure

There is a reflash, which is over-writing the OEM program with a modified program. Typically will need to be reprogrammed when large air-induction-type modifications that alter AFR is added to the vehicle (plenum, or high flow cats, or intakes). Catbacks, or exhausts dont change the tune much. nor do sparkplug or grounding wires for that matter...

And there are piggy backs. which are 3rd party add-ons that 'intercept' signals from the car's sensors, and substitute with their own values into the car's ECU try to fool it into thinking that the sensors are doing something differently. Majority of the time it works, until the ECU tries to dial back and or change your settings.

the best bet for those that will be changing your engine modifications frequently (since this is the g37 crowd, i'll say not often) is to reflash the stock computer to a new 'baseline', and add a piggyback to allow full user customization.

not all piggy backs are created equal. not all reflashes are the same.. it comes down to, how good the tuner is at knowing the limitations of the engine and what and where to modify the fuel/timing maps.

if you think you can do better than a tune shop, then more power to you! but for the majority of the population that wants a set it and forget it mentality, there are many commercial off the self systems that can be purchased, however currently available for the G37 that is pretty slim pickings.

You mean it modifies boost, timing and afr. Anyone can alter boost with an mbc or ebc, but it is the combination of all 3 that make real power differences.
