Cruise Control flashing, No Power in D above 60

Last night I was heading home from Miami, tried to set the cruise control but the "Set" kept flashing continuously. Turned the car off several times on the way home when at lights trying to get this to go away but it would not. Also while I was driving in Drive, my car would top out at around ~61 mph! Had to throw it in MM to get to 75.

Did an ECU reset this morning and everything seems to be working now, CC works too, weirdest thing though. Has anyone else experienced this one? The CC didn't bother me quite as much as my car topping out at 60 and slamming down to 3rd (I'm guessing).

this may sound very stupid (as your signature doesn't have it)... but do you have the tech package with the intelligent cruise?

I had something similar happening, but it was my own retarded fault... I had a car in front of me, the car was beeping at me that I was going over 60ish whatever, and applying the brakes while I was accelerating... the most weird feeling ever. Figured it out in 2 seconds though. Turned CC off and everything was good...

Diamond doesn't know that we hacked his system so now the speed limiter is set to 60mph.

LOL, no tech package. It was the weirdest thing though, I wasn't too worried about the CC not working as I figured it was just electrical and could easily be fixed with a reset but when my car was just slamming to redline in 3rd gear it got my attention.

odd. I probably would have left it as is and taken it to the dealer.

Maybe the flashing cc light left some sort of code in the sytem that the dealer can check out.

This will happen if you turn off the VDC and turn on the cruise control. Try it

Hey Diamond,

My acura TL type S did this once. They replaced the transmission. The whole slamming into 3rd at highway speed is very scary.

I had them tow it to the dealership after it happened. They had a recall on the tranny anyway so they just replaced it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the tranny, no one else has experienced this so it must have just been electrical, good thing it's a lease!
