whats a cc ???

hey guys, the title says it all.... whats a cc ????

i know we have 3696 cc, but what actually is it ?

It's the measure of volume of the cylinders. Not sure if this is active displacement or static displacement. I guess an easy way to think of it is filling the six cylinders with fluid, with the piston all the way down, then measure the amount of fluid required to fill the cylinders.

3696 cc / 6 cylinders = 616 cc per cylinder.

Good explanations. To help understand its volume, a sugar cube is about 1 cc in volume. On the old days before any foreign cars were common in the US engine displacement was measured in CI (cubic inches). Hence sizes like a Chevy 350, a Ford 302, or a Chrysler 318.

1cc is 1 cm x 1cm x 1cm. Guess they don't really teach Metric system here :P
