Attention Auto Tranny Owners...

Just taking a poll to see if my car has an issue or not. How many automatic transmission drivers can spin wheels with their auto. VDC on and off...

Thanks for your help guys

I've chiirpped the tires shifting from 1-2 on AT, its very possible even with VDC on.

VDC off, dry pavement straight start, no brake/torque converter action just stab the gas and go...No burn out, just hauls a$$. I'm sure if I brought up the revs a bit with the torque converter first it would spin the tires but I haven't tried, tires are indeed pricey...

I second that. Went through my first set of tires on the g35 in 11,000 miles. Luckily at the time I was 17 and the head of the service department at the dealership said he remembered what it was like to be that age and good-willed me the back 2 tires (saving me $800). But yea, it just seems stupid to do burnouts with tires that are $375 a piece

I've seen a few posts on Driver over the years of people who've had to get new tires in less than 2,000 miles, thats nuts!!!!!!!!

I only do burnout/donuts/track nights right before I head to get my tires changed. I'm glad I'm not 17 anymore, my first car was an A4 Quattro so there was no such thing as a burnout for me!

I've got a 5at and with VDC on i wouldn't call it a burn out but it'll deffinatly chirp and spin the tires (that is untill the VDC stops you)

With it off the only time I really tried was right after i got it and wanted to see what it is capable of. From a dead stop i floored it and started to burn out and i started veering to the right then back to the left before it hooked up and almost snaped my head off.

I too don't want to waste my tires on burnouts. Although, when I first purchased my car, I wanted to understand my G's feature. (My 1st Sports Car) So I "Barked" the tires briefly a few times (wet and dry) to see how well the VDC works.

Other than that, a waste of tires. My friend has a Z06 Corvette, and never floors the car without traction control on, as it smokes the tires everytime.

Just my .2c

I can spin with VDC on especially in colder weather. I can really really spin with VDC off. When it's hot I get only slight wheel spin when I floor it.

All of the above without brake torquing.
