5AT shifting question?

I've noticed that when I start the car and just start driving in DS mode the shifts from 2nd to 3rd are quite rough. The shift is not very smooth and feels more like the jolt you feel in a manual when you're racing and hard accelerating quickly through the gears. This happens on normal SLOW driving like in a residential area kind of driving. Is this normal? When the car does warm up about after 10-15 minutes of driving, it gets smoother and more fluid. It is only from 2nd to 3rd gear though.

BTW, I got that stupid baffle problem in the exhaust and the G sounds like crap now!!!

I'd just say for slow driving I would use D instead of Ds. I've found that it makes rough shifts when its around 3k rpm. When its cold the engine probably idles a bit higher than normal. Hence the little jerk.

I'm not sure what was meant by rev matching as that only occurs on downshifts. Not upshifts.

After it warms up try doing a manual shift right around 3k rpm. You'll probably feel the same jerk.

^^ good point, guess I didn't read the thread right. I only feel 'rough' downshifts. Never a problem upshifting.

Lol. DS is what it is... Sport mode. The revs will be higher, the shifting will be much more pronounced, this mode basically makes your car a bit more aggressive.
