2200 miles and already have a "Service Engine Soon" light
I just wanted to start off by saying it has been a very frustrating 12 hours or so. Last night when I turned my car on, the Service Engine Soon light came on even though I only have 2200 miles on my G. If that weren't enough, my Invisicord came in the mail yesterday and I can't for the life of my get the connector pins to go all the way into the wiring harness. I woke up at 7am today to call the dealership about coming in to see what is wrong with the car and after sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half they told me that the Vent Control Valve needs to be replaced and that they will order it and call me some time next week. I have been assured that it is not dangerous/harmful to be driving around with this problem (they said it had to do with the emissions system measuring gas vapors in the fuel tank or something like that) but would like to know if anyone has any real knowledge on this problem and the effects it can have if I continue driving with this problem. I know there are already threads on the Invisicord and I have looked at all of them but I still can not seem to get the pins in. Anyone have any extra suggestions? I asked the service people at the dealership to do it but the tech said no because the last time he did it he fried the electrical system or something like that. Any suggestions for either situation would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
**Update** Just to make things even better today, I just went and started my car and the nav screen froze, making it so none of the buttons on the console work... It just isn't my day
Thanks in advance

that is the first thing that they said to me when i got to the dealership. there is actually a part that needs to be replaced. i am just trying to find out if it is safe to drive for the next week and if there is going to be any further damage if continue to drive the car with this problem
My guess would be that if it wasn't safe, having their clients burning alive in their cars would be bad for business. That, and the small liability issue. If it does cause further damage, the car's under warranty. If you get your invisicord to work, let me know what you think. I'd like to get one.

In that case, do not drive the car like that. Tell them that you do not want to take any risk and you need a loaner until the fix yours. If they refuse call Infinity consumer service and explain your situation. It is your car, your Money, your time, your safety GET A LOANER leave the car at the dealer.
Take care

OK, for those of you who are reading challenged, yellow warning lights = OK to keep driving, red warning lights = stop now.

G37Racer: thank you for the tip. hopefully ill get around to trying that sometime this weekend.
Todd: I understand that yellow means that it is ok to keep driving but when the dealership told me that it was something having the do with the gas vapors in the tank, i got a little worried.

In any case, you can stop worrying about the SES light.
Ha...I just had the exact same experience. Just over 2000 miles and the SES light came on. Took the car in and they said it's the VCV that needs to be replaced. They said they're in the middle of switching vendors and it's going to be over a month before they can get me a new one!
i have been driving around with a SES light since beginning of this year! guess its not a big deal since my car is still running but annoying to see that light on.
and yes, the invisicord is a pain to put in. I broke a part of the pin when trying to jam it in there; but luckily whats left of it still fit in.
