same i get 20mpg with 50/50 on city/highway. I started wit 15-16 but now after almost 1500 miles, its improved a lot.

 

luckily they didn't charge me extra for the nitrofill!

Well I'd love to put Nitro in my tires but until they come out with a cheap way <$200 I could have something in my garage to do this.. I'm going to pass. If I were you I'd stay away from IOCC, those guys will Nickel and Dime the heck out of you.

13-14 Is what I get in city driving. I really drive the car enthusiastically, however.

 

Estimate or not, it does not calculate correctly. After many cars with this function in my lifetime, this is by far the least accurate. My current MB is way more accurate along with all the other MB's and cars we have had.

 

AFAIK, this variable is calculated on driving conditions and actual volume of fuel.
Since I am not using the computer, as the cars diagnostics is, I have no control over its efficiency. All related systems in my other past cars quickly recalculate after a short period of time under X driving conditions and Y fuel load.

 

The easiest way to find out for sure is to calulate the milage yourself. I did it at different times and 5 or 6 tanks if I remember correctly...
I even skipped a couple just to be sure. The biggest variance I got was .5 mpg. The system is pretty accurate on mine.....

 

Yeah I think it's pretty accurate. I was driving a little crazing on the freeways and all of a sudden it was like "9 miles left." Then when I slowed down it slowly went back up to 50 miles left. If I would have kept going I would have probably run out pretty quick. It seems that it tries to predict based on the the last few marks it calculated. I got no beef with it.

 

I feel like our 6th gear is geared more for acceleration than gas mileage. In the 350Z I could easily get 28mpg @ 65mph on the highway. This time it's around 22mpg @ 65mph.

But the 350Z has a really tall 6th gear. I'd go WOT and accelerate like the Toyota Echo to my right. But that was also the fun, that mean I needed to downshift and rev match to 4th (or sometimes 3rd... hehe) to pass.

With the G, I step on the gas and I go from 80 to 100 in only a few seconds.

Would you guys trade that 6th gear acceleration for 28mpg on the highway?

 

Yes... I drove a couple 2001 viper rt/10's which had lovely 6th gear acceleration. However I don't need that on my damn g37!! I'd rather have 28mpg and be able to downshift to 3rd/4th.

I actually downshifted to 3rd today on the freeway on the way to work ( no cops for a few miles ), while going 65mph. Flew threw third and all the way through 4th in what seemed like no time at all. I was going 135-140 at the end, hehe I'd been waiting to do that sometime. I decelerated pretty quickly afterwards just in case a cop came down the onramp or something.

 

Sorry, never heard of this. What does Nitro do for your in tires?
