Free Alignment from Infiniti

My hub bearing was ****ed up. First diagnostic after I paid 140.00 was that I had aftermarket lugs. I replaced them, clicking noise remained. Second time they blamed my Stoptech BBK and apparently they greased the **** out the bearing and clicking noise was gone but now is a grinding noise. I end up buying a new hub from ebay to replace it on my own. I have video posted to confirm that it was the hub bearing.

called parkway infiniti in valencia, california they denied my free alignment saying it has to be a warranty issue for the 1st year. So they are charging me $140 for alignment and rotation, is that a good deal or should i tell them to suck it? i just installed eibach springs a week ago so i'm going to need an alignment anyways, just trying to get them free...
rotations are free and you can get lifetime allignments for that price

In case you want to show the dealer the written policy on the free alighnment, it's in your Warranty Information Booklet (Page 5 on my '09 version):
ADJUSTMENT COVERAGE
Service adjustments not usually associated with the
replacement of parts, such as wheel alignment, are
covered only during the first 12 months or 12,000
miles, whichever comes first.Service adjustments not usually associated with the

I called my rep at Infiniti and she said they would still align my car even with it being dropped since I am owed one within one year or 12k. she said there is no way they can get it back to oem specs because the camber cant be adjusted(already knew that) but still think its cool they will do it. I am having it done after i put my wheels on ....

traction in corners with possible wheel hop, a harsher feeling
ride, and premature tire wear....but it would all depend on
much difference there is from stock. The new set-up may in
fact "feel" like an improvement, when in fact all that is
happening is the new set-up is making the tires do more work
and that may be trade-off you want to make....but it will
come at a cost of increased tire wear and chances are you'll
start upgrading other parts to make them all work better
togeather.....It's kind of like sex. The anticipation is exciting
and once the process begins it's almost impossible to stop
before you're satisfied....lol

how would more - camber decrease steering response and less traction in a corner? have you ever done a track day? have you every had any involvement in any type of road racing? participating or watching? how you never noticed race cars always run negative camber? because it creates better traction and better cornering along with more contact patch while in the corner. your pretty much as wrong as could be on this topic.
it's not about racing at the track...it's about how the proposed
modifications will affect handling and tire wear. You are a dope
if you don't think that any suspension mofication will not
affect tire wear negitively in a street driving environment...
Any engineer will tell your that shortening the "springs" with
a shorter stiffer unit makes the tires absorb the additional
physical forces being transferred to the tires by the
added stiffness = greater forces at work at the tire/road
contact point = greater tire beating. You may know
about getting additional handling at the track, but you
sure don't know much about physics or engineering.
If what works on the track worked and was ECONOMICAL
on the road there would be no need for modified race
cars would there? Did you understand that?

Let me shed some light on this. As a technician at infiniti I can tell you that an alignment can be done under warranty if the car has under 12k miles and is within 1 year of purchase. Depending on the dealer and service advisor (and wether he/she likes you and/or your attitude towards them) you may or may not get one. Some dealers are more leanient as to modded cars or not, but most will not do a free alignment on a lowered car or one with any wheels other than stock since this is something the customer should be paying for anyway.
It can also depend on the technician, if there's not a lot of work around and he can make some hours on a warranty alignment, he may look the other way on a modded car and get it done for free. Or if he is overwhelmed with work he might say "hey this car is dropped and that's causing the irregular tire wear, it's not covered under warranty", and then you're pretty much S.O.L.
I hope this helps. FYI, I'm the one of the ones who looks the other way

Havent read all 5 pages yet, but when I stopped by the dealer for this, they told me to drop off the car and then which they proceeded to do a road test on the car and the tech found no irregularities so the free alignment was called off.
