service engine light

Anyone experiencing a "service engine light" coming on steady on a NEW G? I did after only 1,000 miles. Taking it in today, but they said if the gas cap isn't "snugly" tightened after a fill up, that can cause the sensor for the emissions to come on and thus the light. Supposedly, after a few "trips" the light will go out if that is the problem. So far, light still on after 5 "trips".

Just thought you should know. Also, if light is steady, not so bad, but if it's blinking, go to dealer "soon."

You can reset it yourself. Follow the instructions here: https://www.myg37.com/forums/showthr...ight=reset+ecu

thanks but...

Thanks much for the link but dealer says it's something to do with "grounding" issue??? Wonder if the unhooking of the battery when they (stillen) installed intakes? Got to go to kids house for holiday tomorrow (300 miles away) hope they figure it out.
