How to clear CEL (service engine soon) light?

Anyone know how to clear the Service Engine Soon light on the G37? I messed up with the gas cap and it is driving me crazy. I'd like to make it go away so it can come back on if any REAL problems occur

thanks

Thanks guys.. worked great. The light was flashing a pattern in that middle step --- I'm guessing it was the CEL code that triggered the light. I didn't quite catch it, but I'm pretty sure I know what was up anyway. I'll just worry about it only if it repeats.

Last night I was filling up the car and as I was closing the fuel port, a super smokin hot chick walked by smiling at me and I don't remember anything after that. My next memory is driving home; and the SES (CEL) came on about 1/4 mile from the station. I cleared it once I got home thinking it was spurious. Then it popped again this morning and I really thought my precious perfect brand new car had a serious problem. This light has been worrying me since last night.

I open the manual:

It says that if you don't have the fuel filler cap sealed tight, that this light will come on. The fuel system has to be able to pull a vacuum on the tank. I go out and check and sure enough it's half sealed, lose even. ( That explains that noise I was hearing on bumps ).

Apparently my little head is not concerned with closing the fuel filler cap.

You would think by now that it would know how to close a port.
