Ecutek bluetooth not working

I ended up going with the ecutek remote tuning package from z1. Got the stuff for it in the mail today and went to use it and it won't recognize my vehicle. Tried doing it manually and got a message about calids not being read. Anyone have any ideas? I tried restarting my phone, reconnecting bluetooth, and reinserting the obd2 connector a few times.

So i figured it out, instructions weren't clear on this. It said press the start button without holding the brake. I just tried to start while holding the brake and it stalled out like i expected but the it connected right up.

Well i thought i had it figured out. Got the tune and flashed it today, had to get a new battery after because mine had drained from sitting. Went to do the data logging and now the ecutek dongle won't connect to the obd2 port. The little light on the side no longer lights up when i plug it in. It does light up when i plug it into the computer with the cord it came with so I'd assume the dongle still works. I don't have anything else off hand to plug in to the obd2 to see if something else works.

Got my z1 diagnostics scanner back from my buddy and found the obd2 port is dead. I've heard about it being fuse related so i guess I'm hunting that down tomorrow.

Sort of. A.few days later i tried it again and the ob2 scanner worked but my ecutek dongle didn't. Sent it back to z1 and they replaced it under warranty. Not sure what caused the issue in the first place though.

hmm that is odd, hopefully the new dongle will do the trick. Mine had an issue where it wasn’t Letting the map flash onto the car, turned out the ecuteck cloud was down. Got that sorted out. 10 maps and 20 3rd gear pulls to redline later my car was on the final map and was slower than the stock tune😂. Ended up getting bad gas and it threw the ignition timing off. Anyways we are getting closer to where it should be now and it’s running much better. Just make sure you use the performance analyzer with your stock tune vs the tune they give you to make sure it’s working right. They don’t have the car there on the dyno to see the HP numbers so you have to make sure of that on your own lol. Just make sure you bug them enough and they should make it right for you if you have issues.

I've been guessing on hp numbers based on 1/4 mile times and the weight of the car. Theres a website that calculates your 1/4 mile time based on your vehicle weight and hp. I ran 13.1 and i figure the car probably weighs around 3850 with me in it. According to that i have around 330 at the tires. Obviously it doesn't account for awd or gear ratios or automatic vs manual transmissions. I have an awd auto. Might be able to get faster than 13.1 too.

damn! 13.1 is a really good time. I took mine to the drag strip the other weekend and did a 14.3 3 times in a row and decided my tune was not working properly. (I have a sub 50k mile XS) Curious what your 0-60 time is? Mine was at 6 seconds lol, but got it back down after some back and forth with the tuner.

0 to 60 was 4.8. I need to run again because the tune was revised twice since that run. I'm hoping with a hard launch and a little weight reduction i can break into the high 12s. Tune must've been really off for you, stock x sedan runs 13.7.
