California Smog Tuned ECU

*Not sure if this post is should be here, please move or delete if not allowed*

What are all my fellow California Gs doing when it comes to getting a smog for there tuned ECU??
According to my tuner in Wilmington, CA. They don't have my stock map anymore because according to UPREV, they delete them after every 6 months...... I was trying to get my stock map back... Now I am debating to just bring my vehicle back there and having them remove the UPREV tune.

Thanks for the INPUT. In need of assistance.

According to Rob at ZCG UPREV has plans in the works for a CARB legal tune. Maybe ask your tuner about it or reach out Rob for some additional information.

PM me, I have all the stock maps available. I also have a full CARB approved (pending) twin turbo kit that we are about to release for this platform. All models with the vq37 will be supported. The emissions testing on the kit has completed, they are just waiting on some final documents to complete the process.

were you not able to save your stock map first before you tuned it?

Im also dealing with a Cali smog issue with my 2013 G37, also with a tune from a well known shop in Wilmington, CA.

This shop suggested that I swap out my tuned ECU (which was stock) for a refurbished one with the stock map on it to pass the smog. I got a refurbished ECU from a (poorly reviewed spot online) called FS1. Got this ECU installed and the car would not start until I paired it with the keys which is expected. $600 later from the keys the smog shop fails with the new ECU because my VIN is not on this ECU. Called the shop in Wilmington and a different guy tells me only the dealership can add the VIN. All the Infiniti dealerships tell me they cannot add a VIN to a refurbished ECU so I must pay $1000 for a new ECU from the dealership.

FKN nightmare. Already down almost $1000 and they tell me this wont work and I need to pay another $1000 for a ECU from the dealer. Is there really no way to add a VIN to a refurbished ECU that runs fine?

Any suggestions? I have less than 2 weeks to pass the smog.

its too bad you didn’t reach out to me on this. I could’ve had you taken care of including key programming and vin for a fraction of what you spent. Pm me and I’ll help you get this resolved in a cost effective manner.
