Ecu tek is a top quality product, plus John is the man.
Uprev had its chance time to step it up with Visconti tuning, he's is the ecu tek guru.

Back in June EcuTek dealers (me) were promising advanced EcuTek features and they've just taken longer to get done with all the other projects going on.

Right now EcuTek has most of the stuff done.

-Map Switching
-MAP Sensor Scaling
-Injector Scaling
-Extended Engine Load (for High HP Cars)
-VE Based SD
-Custom Maps
--ecu boost control
--Boost limiter
--flex fuel
--traction control

To name a few

Map Switching can defiantly be done on-the-fly on the manual cars, not sure on the auto cars just yet..
@Visconti, Are you able to control the line pressure for the 7AT transmission as Uprev can with EcuteK?

It's a requested trq map, and yes EcuTek has it.

What's really cool is for those higher powered cars..

The factory computer's fuel maps, ignition maps, trq maps etc have a load limit on them. EcuTek's new release of RaceRom is simliar to the GTR where there's no engine load limit. This means a few things, 1 - you dont have to screw with the k value or bfs multiplier to give the maps more range (if done wrongly will make the car drive funny) 2 - Will give us more range on the trq table, so those high powered autos won't be forced MAX clamping during part throttle.

That's the simple version of it lol

As soon as I explain why I'm playing with a car that is hers.
If I do the tune, I want to do it only once.
Maybe a test pipe with cb & intake then tune.

Like the uprev tune, you feel really feel the power in the mid range but it pulls right through the upper band too. During everyday driving the EcuTek tune feels just like stock. The shifts in stop and go traffic are smooth and I didnt experience and jerky downshifts like I did with the Uprev tune. The EcuTek tune only came with one map so I wont have that added piece of mind should I ever valet the car. New updates are expected in the next month or so hopefully something is in the works.
Thank you for this post.

QQ for you OP. When you come out of a turn, lane change or from stand still, do you get that dreaded transmission lag? If you dont mind, what ecm/tcm update you're on(ITB12-027)? thanks.

I have an 09 G37Xs (ITB12-027), stock but with a uprev tune. Yeah yeah, but I couldnt stand the transmission lag. It was either uprev or VB upgrade and I can always resell software. From the sound of it, ecutek might suit my needs better.

Not to discredit uprev, maybe we had an inexperience tuner? In the interest of full disclosure, I ask my tuner to change the ET mapping per link below but I doubt he did it. He said he tweaked it a little, up the line pressure and flatten out the AFR curve. Yes, I get a tune can do so much but base on the feed back, I was expecting more as far as shifting is concern.

So theoretically speaking, one run vs one run, there shouldn't be any power difference?
I think you haven't answer this John.I still don't know

If this is a viable and seemingly preferable option to UpRev, that's great news for the G/Z community.

Thanks for this thread! Does EcuTek offer e-tunes? I saw that someone asked this question but no one responded

So glad to see more and more G owners going with EcuTek and seeing great results. I was one of the first last spring to be the guinea pig and had RT Tuning in Lansdale PA work their tuning magic. My numbers? 310whp and 271tq.

Funny thing is I've read some stock numbers output better than UpRev. That's just pathetic.
