Plugs + Osiris

Does anyone on the sedan side (or coupe side) have much experience with Osiris? I still, to this day, despite research...don't understand what the difference is between a dyno tune and a reflash is. I understand that tuners mess around A/F ratios, remove speed limiters, open the throttle flaps, up the redline, etc..

I read around that quite a few people (Z's mostly) needed to replace spark plugs prior to tuning - from running too lean, for too long (test pipes). Does anyone know how LONG I can run test pipes before needing new plugs (so I can get the car tuned). Haven't installed the FI pipes (still waiting), but I figured I'd wait to install them until I can break free to get the Osiris tune (Intec). TThhhhaaannnnkkksss

I honestly haven't heard of spark plugs being a problem.. Interesting tho since I want to get TPs too.

I know i know! I only have springs and intake:/ gotta get the tints done this week too. Dude with all the mods on your car, that thing must be fast! Oh how was the osiris btw? I need to get a tune after summer.

And how do you have 27k miles? I only have 11k lmaooo, but its been mostly city so shes getting her fair share of wear and tear.

I think you're asking for the difference between a dyno tune and etune. Both procedures require a reflash. Reflash means overwriting the Nissan ECU Rom with the hacked Osiris Rom. That is what allows the tuner to make changes to the ECU parameters and maps.

Now the difference between a dyno tune and etune is simple. A dyno tune requires you to take the car to a shop and strap it on the dyno. This allows the tuner to log your engine rpm, speed, hp, torque, and A/F ratio. This will cater the tune to your car and your mods. Basically, this is the way to get the most of the tune.

Etune is for people who want a cheaper tuning solution or do not have access to a Uprev Tuner. Basically, you tell uprev what kind of mods you have on the car and send them a log of your car parameters and they will generate a tune for you. Then you upload the tune to your car.

that's the first time anyones correctly described to be what "reflashing" is (despite all the threads I've read through). thanks modme!

doesn't a complete tune include both a dyno tune + reflash though?

Yes, that's what I said both procedures (dyno tune and etune) requires a reflash.
