Does the Cobb Fix The G's Throttle Lag?
I just want to know if the AccessPort fixes that god-awful throttle lag we all seem to experience. I want it to go away. I like for my car to actually go when I step on the go pedal.
It is much improved, and you have access to the throttle tables with the Race tuning software. With that said, I think some of it is related to the VVEL. According to some things I have read, a lot of the throttle control is a by-product of the VVEL system, and the throttle bodies are actually close to fully open most of the time.

You know, that's what I've been thinking as well (VVEL) - that it's partly an unfortunate by-product of the VVEL 'power swell' - this is so ironic, and it reminds me of what Microsoft does when they say "oh that's not a bug (or defect) it's a feature!"
LOL. Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure that is complty acurate.I got mine tuned and basically only af ratio made ant diff.cobb has not cracked timing adjustment.but if you get professionally tuned.car is day and night with throttle response.I have a 5at.no need for ds unless I'm driving aggressive.
My point is that some of the throttle control is done by the VVEL system on the VQ37VHR. This is unlike any car that I am aware of. Our throttle control is a by-product of the throttle bodies (that the Cobb can control), and the VVEL (valve control--which the Cobb cannot control).

I'm pretty sure vvel has something to do with the air flow.timiming is not adjustable using any cobb software.vvel has almost nothing to dp with the throttle.did you our throttle bodies close up at least 10 percent under full throttle.it is for emmisons, pollution control.that's why no one has cracked it yet.

hmmmm - this has all been very interesting. I really hope it's just a matter of tuning. I'd hate for the car to be held back simple throttle response and transmission issues. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anybody does a transmission tune yet either, right? I would give my right *** to get a custom tune on the transmission, like I had on my G8. Transmission tuning turned that G8 upside down! it went from having a lost, kinda sluggish tranny into a reactive demon. I could chirp the tires in 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 -If I went full throttle on the freeway, I could get a chirp at 65 mph. Made the car a lot more fun to drive, and I'd like to get the same response out of the G as well.
If you want to get rid of that lag you need a professional tunner.(not the softwatre)mine was done by Import Performance Parts
Results are day and night.car drives the way it should.not like it comes stock.
