Hard to say. I don't really pay attention to MPG, or drive the car enough on regular highway commutes to matter.

I think I recall you saying you bought the gears from Nissan? I’m wondering if there will be a Black Friday sale somewhere and I can snag the gears for a good price.

I know it's a little extreme... What do you think about 4.36? Wish you had gone bigger?

Just to set things right, you mean shorter... not bigger.

If you'd asked me this question over the summer, I would have said no way. But like anything that takes getting used to, I think today I would say, "Let me drive that first and see."

What would probably happen is that over time you'd figure out how to daily drive the car like a normal person, but there's no getting around how much shifting you'd be doing. So while 4.083 gears are reasonable to live with in the G/Z 6MT, I suspect even shorter gears would be awkward.

As I was typing bigger, I thought to myself, “wait isn’t it a smaller gear?†Oh well. Good info!

38120-EC000 : Pinion Rear Bearing

38165-0C020 : Differential Spacer

Rochester- can you cross check these part numbers to make sure this is what you have before I order all the parts. I was hoping you might have an invoice laying around that still has all the part numbers.

It also looks like two of the parts have changed numbers according to Nissan: 38120-EC000 has changed to 38120-0C000 and 43262-01P10 has changed to 43262-01P1A.

Thanks!

Sorry, no, I don't have the part numbers.

Between researching the forums and retailers selling kits, I'm sure you've got it right, tho.

I bought a diff rebuid kit from TheNismoShop, which is actually just the parts dept from West Covina Nissan... if I recall correctly. It's probably back in this thread somewhere, or my build thread. They screwed up the kit, and it took me a while to work with them to get the all the parts fulfilled. If I had to make a rec, I'd say get it from Z1. I know you've had issues with them, but that was service, whereas they seem fine in parts.
