Bad Weather G drank water

So as we all know dallas had ALOT of rain today and on the way back from the dallas convention center today i was on i-35 getting on to 183 and bumper to bumper traffic NO room to move/switch lane/ NOTHING.... POURING BLINDING rain !!! so i drove my 03 G35c with the nismo intake through puddles and puddles and it eventually took a sip of water =(

Soo...the bypass valve worked? Or did your engine die...

If your engine ingested water than your bypass valve didn't work.

Wink You'll be OK

Check your oil, look for milky oil and creamy foam on the filler cap. A little water won't hurt a motor. (water injection?) However, a lot can... you know.

You didn't hydrolock it, so you are probably ok. (get rid of that CAI) You may have some residual water on your Mass Airflow Sensor. It may dry out soon. If it quits raining.

Only thing that will tell you that is a compression leak down test.

if you have dropped compression your car will bog at low rpms and come alive like above 4k...my little brother borrowed my last m3 and downshifted into the wrong gear and the motor was fried...compression test showed it had almost no compression in the first 2 cylinders and it drove like it was about to die at idle until it passed 4k rpm for me

Damn JJ, you have been having the worst luck with your ride lately!! Hopefully you didn't do any permanent damage! I remember a long time ago I did something similar by driving through a huge puddle of water. I think it was just the temperature difference but I ended up blowing a head gasket. It wouldn't start and the anti-freeze was pouring out of the block

Let us know how it turns out!

GD!!!!! You would be safer sitting in a padded room at a looney bin. Geez remind me not to be around you before I go to Vegas or something good night! That is an aweful string of luck! Turn that frown upside down. Get er done!
