Hey guys,

I just ordered a new set of Hawk HPS brake pads (front and rear) for my '03 sedan. Unfortunately, I do not have any tools available here at my apartment. Where would be a good place to install them? Grubbs is asking for $150 with the install plus rotor resurfacing. Anybody else have any ideas? Thanks

 

I would offer to help but I'll be out of commission for at least a week. The brakes are fairly simple to do and you really dont need that many tools. Way too much if you ask me....I did my own brakes and Pep Boys can resurface your rotors for bout $10 bucks each or maybe less.

 

you could go to gs motorsports and talk to german

 

You would be better off going to a Pep Boys to get that kind of thing done. You'd be hard pressed to find that kind of work for any cheaper. Plus those guys have a lift and such, German does good work but I question how he gets some of that stuff done without a lift in his shop. Full engine swaps and stuff must get kinda dicey without one.

German does have a lift in his shop.

I've done a B16A motor swap in my own garage w/ just floor jacks & jackstands. I've helped on several other swaps w/o a lift, it's not that hard.

 

thanks for all the input everybody, but i got the stuff done at grubbs already...and i finally got a new windshield too, so i'm a happy camper right now!

you dont need a lift to do a brake job...it can be done on jacks and stands if you have to...
